I'm Back! And Welcome!

First of all, welcome and thank you for the positive feedback I have received about the legacy so far. It takes a lot of free time to take these screenshots as well as writing the story that goes along with them.

Now I'd like to apologize for the lack of updates. Life has gotten away from me and I haven't been able to work on the legacy over the last several months. As I said above it takes a lot of time, more than I expected, to create these stories and even more just to get them ready to post on this blog.

I have every intention to continue the legacy, and seeing the feedback from you readers is a great motivation.

And now for the best part. If you haven't seen it already, I've just posted chapter five. Any new readers can find the older chapters archived under the Chapter Posts tab. General messages, such as this one, will be archived under the Author Posts tab.

I have also started a new thread for the legacy on the Sims 3 Community Forums. I made this thread to hopefully direct new readers to my blog and also as another place to leave feedback, but I still encourage you to comment right here on the blog.

So once again thanks for reading and for all the positive comments.

P.S.
I am working tirelessly on the next chapter so stay tuned! :)

Generation One - Chapter Five - Friends and Foes

As soon as they returned from France, Edwin invited Constance to move to his lot.

They both agreed to focus on building their new home before making any wedding plans.

Edwin spent most of his days finding inspiration for his next masterpiece.

Constance left her job in journalism to focus on a new career path.

After registering at town hall, she began her new career as a writer.

While the house remained unfinished, Constance spent her days at the library working on her first novel. She titled it “Crossing Paths.”

While not writing, Constance would take the opportunity to spend time with her good friend Heather Crosby.

After selling countless paintings and receiving royalties from Constance's novels, Edwin was finally able to build his dream home.

Many rooms still needed to be finished, but Edwin was able to furnish the main hall, dining room, study and living room.

Edwin and Constance made plans to be married in the garden behind their new home. The night before the wedding, Edwin, Don and Heather's husband Odin enjoyed an evening of fun and games in town.

The big day had arrived, Heather brought Constance to the local salon for her bridal makeover. Constance was pleased with how she looked in her wedding gown.

A small group of friends gathered for the ceremony behind the couple's new home.

Edwin and Constance exchanged their vows...

...and sealed them with a kiss.

The next morning Constance was awoken by the ringing of the doorbell. Edwin had left early to deliver paintings to the consignment store.

She was surprised to see that it was Heather at the front door. Heather seemed to be quite upset.

Constance brought Heather into the dining room. Once seated, Heather began to explain the situation.

“Earlier this morning I found out that I am pregnant!” Heather cried, “Don't get me wrong, I am every bit thankful for this miracle, but it's Odin! When I told him the news, he freaked out! He never wanted to have children and I knew that. We didn't expect this to happen. He told me that he doesn't want anything to do with this baby, so I left! I'm alone and have no place to go.”

“Don't be silly, your not alone!” Constance reassured, “Your welcome to stay with Edwin and I as long as you need too. There's plenty of room in this house.”

“No.” Heather replied, “I can't do that. You and Edwin wouldn't mind?”

Constance nodded and Heather finally smiled. Perhaps things were turning around.

Later that day, Edwin returned home from delivering his paintings.

Edwin asked Constance why Heather was upstairs with luggage.

Constance explained everything to Edwin. He agreed with her decision to invite Heather to live with them.

Edwin still couldn't believe what had happened. Just as quickly as he came home, he was once again out the door.

He found his way to the restaurant in town.

Odin was on break from work as Edwin approached.

“How can you do such a thing!” Edwin began to yell at Odin, “Your wife is expecting a child and your selfish enough to renounce everything to do with them!”

“This doesn't concern you Ed,” Odin angrily replied. “I never wanted to have children, and Heather knew that. You're in no position to understand something like this!”

They both glared at each other and nothing more was said.

As he walked away, Edwin knew that he would be a much better father than Odin, Constance was also expecting.

Generation One - Chapter Four - Painting The Future

Edwin continued to work every morning on his paintings. He decided to invest some of his savings in another easel.

During the evening, Constance would often invite Edwin over for dinner.

She would also occasionally welcome him to spend the night.

Edwin continued to build his friendship with Don. They would frequently get together and catch a movie.

Once he sold enough paintings, Edwin was finally able to build the foundation for his house.

Edwin invited Constance to be the subject of his next painting. He enjoyed the company while at work.

Their passion for one another continued to grow. Constance was doing a lot less reading in her personal library.

They eventually found their way into bed.

Edwin knew that he loved Constance. When they finished, all he could think about was marrying her.

The following morning while enjoying breakfast, Edwin announced to Constance that he was delivering one of his paintings to buyer in France. Constance was delighted, but was even more delighted when Edwin invited her to come along for the journey.

The following day, Edwin and Constance were on a flight to France. They finally arrived at their hotel in the small town of Champs Les Sims.

Edwin and Constance were thrilled to be there. The French landscape was breathtaking.

After they checked into the hotel, Edwin and Constance decided to take a walk into town.

They eventually arrived at the town marketplace.

The market surrounded a beautiful French park. Edwin and Constance decided to split up and explore.

Constance strolled into the local bookstore.

She browsed the shelves and found a quiet spot to read.

Edwin found his way into the general store.

He asked the clerk if they sold any cameras. She nodded and went to find him one.

Edwin had always wanted to learn photography, so he bought the camera before he left.

The buyer for Edwin's painting ran the local relic store. Edwin decided to head over and make the delivery.

The store was filled with all sorts of antiques and artifacts.

Edwin introduced himself to the buyer. His name was Laurant Durand.

Laurant thanked Edwin for the painting and for making the delivery.

Before he left, Edwin decided to buy a copper vase for Constance.

That afternoon, Edwin and Constance met at the market café. They decided to sample some of the French cheeses that were sold there.

After touring town and taking pictures, Edwin and Constance returned to the hotel. Edwin relaxed in bed while Constance read one of the books she bought at the bookstore.

The following day, Edwin and Constance decided to visit the art gallery and museum.

Edwin was inspired by the statues and sculptures. Constance also enjoyed them.

Constance continued to explore the gallery.

She then noticed that Edwin was no where to be found.

She thought that he must of got caught up looking at one of the sculptures and decided to continue her tour.

Constance made her way through the exhibits. She wondered what could have occupied Edwin.

There was a large stone vase in one of the exhibits. Constance jokingly hoped that Edwin was not buying her one of these vases.

Constance eventually came across a long hallway leading to the stairway.

She could see a man standing at the other end of the hall.

Constance was relieved that the man was Edwin. He was dressed differently. Edwin gently stroked her cheek and told her to follow him outside.

They came out to a large courtyard in front of the gallery.

“From the moment I first laid my eyes on you,” Edwin admitted, “I knew that I was in love with you.”

Edwin then dropped to one knee and turned away.

A smile grew across Constance's face.

Followed by complete shock as Edwin turned back with a box in his hands.

Edwin opened the box to reveal a French cut diamond ring.

He pulled out the ring and asked, “Will you marry me?”

Constance held out her hand and nodded.

She lifted her hand and gazed at the ring that Edwin put on her finger.

Edwin rose and Constance wrapped her arms around him. They were both elated.
